The Finale and the Future
It's been a long road. I recently looked at an email that I sent in regards to Break a Leg -- it was soon after the first 5 minutes of the show was released as part of the MySpace FX contest and it was sent, roughly, in March of 2006.
What I'm saying is, it's been a long road.
Since then, we've been called innovators, we've garnered views in the millions, we've gotten press that we would've never dreamed we'd get and we've gotten phone calls from people we never thought we'd talk to -- it hasn't only been a long road, it's been a very, very fun one.
The last episode of Break a Leg Season 1 is here. It's titled Revelations and I think it's a fitting end to a great run that isn't over yet.
What's happening now? We're going to continue speaking to very important people about both Break a Leg and other projects with the potential of getting to our eternal goal -- TV. While we continue to do that, however, we're going to pursue a pet project of ours in a show called LURKER.
The idea behind Lurker? A media blog becomes the hottest item in town when it gets an exclusive on a celebrity couple -- a famous pick-up artist and a party girl celebrity heiress. The catch? The couple is not a couple at all, but reluctant employees of the very company that reports on their exploits.

The thought behind Lurker is to practice what we preach -- we're going to shoot a Pilot that's going to be as close to a TV show (in everything, acting, writing, cinematography, sound, everything) as we can possibly make it and we're going to use that Pilot to try and get advertisers, investors, or whoever interested in funding a full season (interested? Email us at info@breakaleg.tv!)
In the next couple of weeks or so, we're going to throw up a Lurker site that will have behind-the-scenes footage, blogs, and more to update our progress. We'll also be constantly updating the Break a Leg site with blogs and news to tell you how things are going with us, the show, and so on. We'll all be here, so please feel free to come around and talk to us!
More importantly, DVDs are going to be out in the next couple of weeks as well! We're currently in the process of putting all the important stuff together and should have it ready for you all sooner than you can possibly imagine.
I want to very, very, very sincerely thank everyone.
The actors, for putting up with a grueling schedule, no rehearsal and last-minute, "OH MY GOD WE NEED YOU TO SHOOT"-type of phone calls. You're all amazingly talented and amazingly good people. I'm getting you all famous, if that's the last thing I do.
The crew, for being the most dedicated, talented people in the known world. Seriously, I'm writing this blog back in time -- at 5:30 am, and we've been up allll night finishing up this final episode. They have work tomorrow, meaning they're not sleeping, meaning they're amazing. Vlad has a full-time job, a wife and a baby, and he's writing in the gaps in-between. Dustin, our sound guy, is getting married in two weeks but spent the entire weekend editing sound in preparation for the DVD. Hillary is planning a wedding and still helping us plan shoots. Justin and Dashiell basically have given up sleep... I'm saying they're amazing.
For Your Imagination, ever wonder why Episode 3 was so epic? That's because we were going to finish Break a Leg on Episode 3 and move on to other projects. Coincidentally, as we were finishing it up, we met For Your Imagination and signed with them. They created this amazing site for us, told us how to gain a larger audience and helped us get some of the most amazing press ever -- Wall Street Journal, LA Times, SF Chronicle, etc. Our numbers, since FYI met us, jumped by around 4-5 million -- so, what I'm saying is, thank you, thank you, thank you -- this is your baby as much as ours.
The fans, I know we've said thank you a lot but it's hard to express how thankful we are. There's no way we would've done this without you and if we didn't, our careers wouldn't be where they are now so I'm going to go ahead and thank you for helping us achieve our dreams. You guys are wonderful and the only thing I ask is that you don't leave us -- our dreams are being achieved but haven't been fully achieved just yet. We still need your everlasting, ever-giving, ever-damn-cool support.
So, you know, don't leave us just yet.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone.
If you have any questions about Break a Leg, Lurker or anything else, feel free to ask! We're here, waiting, watching.

Am I the only one who feels that Mondays are a little less exciting now?
No, Femke, no you are not. But, take some comfort in the fact that every Monday we are all missing it together. Share the love.
