Does being a BaL UN member (seriously, I still love it--do we have 99 of us yet?), does that mean I no longer need a passport to come to the States?

Ugh, don't even bring up the fact that you need to show a passport to go to Canada. It drives me nuts. Besides, Canada is basically the 52nd state. (Puerto Rico being the 51st.)
YAY for US expansionism... (Ugh, that was hard to even joke about.)

Femke,
The United States and Break A Leg are not the same thing. You need a passport to get into the U.S., but you don't need a passport to come visit us.
See what I did there? U.S. vs. us. I'm ever so clever.

For now, you need a passport because BaLUN is still working on diplomatic recognition from the "other" UN; Mr. Moon refuses to reply to my emails, and Kofi Annan told me, "I Don't have time for this s**t. Who the f*** is this, anyhow?"
P.S.
Femke, did you know there's a city in Michigan called "Holland", and they make clogs and have a big tulip festival? Seriously. Ask Margaret.

Ick, Rohan! That's like visiting Fakesville! (Which is also in New Guinea, about 50 miles from Faraway.)
Thank you, Jennifer, for the geography lesson. I just thought, since you're based in San Fran... can't you pull some strings?

should we implement the chat box now that there are more members of the BaLUN? i don't know if there was a problem with that, or where we should put it, but i thought there might be a better chance of finding someone on it with some of the new(er) fans.

Personally I think it might work better if we were to set up an MSN Messenger or AIM Chat room and set up a password that anybody that visits the site would be able to find. That way the chat window would be independent of the BaL page and wouldn't reset every time you went to a new section. But that's just another one of my crazy ideas.

yeah, jennifer's idea is good. the meebo box was kind of buggy, anyway. there would often be multiple kevins for some reason.

Sounds jood.

I think it's also a good idea. I mean, I wasn't around before with the old chat system, but still, it makes sense to me.

I like Jennifer's idea too.
Right, I can confirm that Holland is the premier tulip-loving clog-dancing city in Michigan.

The problem with doing an AIM chat, etc. is that it doesn't direct traffic to the website. So all of you loving and beautiful fans will come chat in AIM rather than stay here and click on things and help our views go up, which then helps us sell things like advertisements and our bodies to companies.
Know what I mean?
I could try putting the Meebo Box in a specific chat thread.. or hm. Let me think about it.

Think faster. I vote for amoeba.
I've read a lot about da Nederlands. At Schiphol. On the back of a chocolate wrapper. And it is EXACTLY like Holland, MI.

Nederland. We don't pluralize it.
And who knows? Perhaps it is only a figment of my imagination, now.
My reality is firmly rooted in Canada (although my heart and soul are devoted solely to Break A Leg). It snowed here yesterday. Light, fluffy, 3 inches.

For the past few months, it's been snowing like crazy in Wisconsin. And I can't lie, it makes me happy that I decided to go to DC for school. Snow is wonderful and I love it, but not in March after 3 previous months of massive snow fall.
Sorry for the tangent. But hey, I guess it is kind of relevant, because it is snowing in Canada, and Michigan looks like a backwards Wisconsin.

Michigan looks like a backwards Wisconsin? I'm pretty sure it's shaped like a mitten.

Oh, sorry, you probably meant the Upper Peninsula, I forget it's there most of the time...
Geography isn't my friend :(

Don't worry about it. And it's actually not a backwards Wisconsin, just a duplicate. And yeah, we were always taught that Wisconsin looks like a blob, which I actually disagree with (I think it's more of a blob), but for these purposes, Wisconsin looks like a mitten.
Wisconsin + Michigan = Pair of two right hand mittens. Fail

Maggie, where in WI are you? I used to live in Madison.
Please cease if you plan on shipping "snow" across the border; this goes for both Maggie and Femke.
We do NOT need more "snow" down here...we're up to our NOSES in snow.
We sleep on MOUNTAINS of snow and money with women and men we PAY to sleep on mountains of snow and money with us.
When I say "we" I mean everybody in show-business; from the lowest P.A. to the highest A-listers.

I'm from Milwaukee. Woot! Go beer, Brewers, and the Fonz. But now I'm in DC for school. So, even if I wanted to ship you snow, which I think I would, I can't, because it's a gorgeous 61. However, I would definitely love to sleep on those mountains of snow and money.

What is this... snow? Sure, I'm from Russia, but I was five when I left, so I'm pretty sure snow is a figment of my imagination much like the Netherlands are a figment of Femke's. In San Francisco, the closest it comes to snowing is raining and the closest it comes to being very, very hot is when there are no clouds in the sky (and that only happens momentarily, once every so often -- at least, where I live, near the beach.)
I've really wanted to go DC lately, I don't know why -- it might be the fact that I'm watching West Wing like an addict...

The most it snowed here this year was 3 inches, and then it melted right away. But when I went back home for winter break, I got all the snow I wanted. Actually, it was nice. I had a white Christmas, but I didn't have to shovel once this year. HAHA!
My roommmate was just introduced to West Wing in January, so we watched the first two seasons in 2 weeks, which was a trip, because it felt like we were right there. We even made our dorm room into the official White House Think Tank. Granted, it's just a sign I made on Word, and it's in regards to a fictional administration, but still, the sentiment stands.

Yeah, Maggie. I adore that damn show. The writing is so sharp, so smart, if I could trap Aaron Sorkin in a room to write my scripts, I would. Instead, I'll settle for watching and learning.

I must not have diminished the importance of the United States enough in my first post on this board. You're still talking about it. Or it's government. Or shows about its government. *smile*
Anyone from Uzbekistan? Anyone!

Ohhh... any element of humour in that post is cancelled out by the incorrect placement of the apostrophe. To quote Mint, Dammit!
(The Pilot, check it out.)

A good friend of mine is Uzbeki. Well, not really, he's really Russian, but he's from Uzbekistan. He plays hockey with us.
Does Canada have its own government? Honestly, I didn't even know you guys had computers yet!

We have a government, Yuri. We just don't need to make up a show with a fake president to make us feel better about our real president.
(Mostly because we have prime ministers)
Hey, other people out there--what is your form of government? Anyone still in a monarchy?

Wait, Femke.
Back up.
Back up, back up, back up.
I thought Canada was made up by the West Wing?

I'm living in a post-apocalyptic tribunal in which I am the head of all offices.
Also I'm every citizen.
Also we have international pie time every day at 3pm.

I'm finding it hard to believe I'm the only Australian.
But then again, I'm merely a citizen.
Any Bulgarians? ;]

Hi! =]
I'm Russian but live in Estonia :D
Since I found BaL on youtube I'm your big fan :D

Im a New Yorker, but my moms familys from Russia and my dad is from Lebanon. Since Im Jewish, I get automatic citizenship to Israel. Does that mean I get to join the BaLUN?

I'm from Israel/Palestine, but I am also a US and German citizen- so I should get at least a few seats... Although I never lived in Germany, I am an anti-Zionist, and I don't think I can get representation for places my country occupies... But still!

You, uh, you seem to have quite a full plate there, Omri.

Dunedin, New Zealand - from the southernmost university in the world (that's our claim to fame) - oh! and have the steepest street in the world. Don't you love it when your city is planned in London?
Anyway, at least two New Zealanders (me and my flatmate!) love Break A Leg!

So I just had an intense argument about citizenship and religion. Where is the love?
Hurray to BaL for uniting a people, instead of dividing us. Although I am now less fond of children.
