I love the song during the credits on minisode "daves bad day" What is the title and how can I get a copy of it?

Hey there Paul,
The song playing during the credits is our standard intro theme (as well as our standard end credit theme). It's Leva's polka by Loituma (also known as Ievan Polkka). It's a popular song on the internet, appearing not too long ago in all sorts of forms as it viraled it's way across the web. When we heard it we decided it was perfect for the show, it's interesting mix of Finnish and gibberish in acapella form fit our show's surreal comedic nature with just the right dark undertones.
If you're interested in purchasing the song you can check out Loituma on Amazon.
Another group you can hear in our Minisode is one we also frequently use, HotClub SF. They're a very talented local gypsy jazz band. You can check them out right here:
Hope that helps you out and I'm glad you liked the song,
Oh, I actually just found this now randomly, when this song was getting popular on the net, it went through all sorts of pairings and transformations. For some reason it ended up paired with the anime Bleach, and this was the result. As a fan of the song and a Bleach fan I couldn't resist posting this.
Incredibly random Bleach Loituma Pairing.
It makes all kinds of no sense at all ;0).

For those of you wondering, Dashiell does not only play our "crew guy" but is, in fact, one of our main crew guys. He both co-shoots the show with Justin (Chase Cougar), edits, and is chiefly responsible for VFX.
He's also way more helpful in this message than I've ever known him to be. Usually, if I ask him a question, I'll be met with a swift kick to the gut. Oh, how he's changed.

I've grown so much both as a filmmaker AND as a human being :0).

Also, as a horrible, shameless plug, do check out Faithful Henry, the band that has produced some of the music in Break a Leg, and will likely produce a lot more in the future, when it's not busy getting married.

This sounds like Holly Dolly

It sounds like who?

what was the song that was playing during the snuff clip in ep.2?

I agree with Yuri ... Dashiell, what happened to you? You are so helpful ... how about sharing your expertise on this simple questio ... "What is the meaning of life and everything??"

pretty sure it's 42?

Hehe. I think the editing is first class. Zeroth class.

42! You're right, you're right ... You really are helpful!

For a show I am making I am going to try as much as possible to use my own music, but what if I really really like this song and thought it would be good for it? Is there any way I could use it in my show?

You could...if you don't sell it...and keep yourself obscure enough ;)
In reality, you could always ask the music people nicely.

What Nick said, yeah.
You can either ask, use it illegally or don't use it at all. It's not a big deal if you're not planning for wide distribution, but you're going to have more and more problems as video sites try to crack down on copywritten material. That's why we had to get permission to use Francesca, as she's copywritten by Italy.

I'm liking the whole use illegally idea ^_^
But I guess I will try to ask permission when it is absolutely necessary...Thanks for the info =)

Or you could just Vanilla Ice it.

What is that supposed to mean? o.O

Vanilla Ice took "Under Pressure" by Queen, added one quarternote, and made "Ice Ice Baby". He then claimed it was a completely different tune because of that little change.

Ahhh, I see. I remember my dad telling me something about that. That's pretty funny ^_^

That last comment was pretty hilarious.
I particularly enjoyed "father and lincoln investors." I don't know why that's funny to me? Oh and the random Jesus; although I suppose the whole thing is random.
Also: Thanks for pointing me in the direction of HotClub SF. After I get paid I'm totally buying some of their CDs.
